Apr 22, 2023        sing / along

Like (y)our man Yogi Be(a)rra (hooker please, -id.), (y)our man Cin the humble(d) narrator of (t)his Take THis Thing Back to Baltime-moires and sing / along is having ‘deja vu all over / again’ because hulk-smashing away at the same at this coffee shop in the tony Gebe neighborhood and on O-Town’s Bank Street and Hopewell Avenue and that was once a Starbucks edition in the not-too-distant past that four-lettered word - ‘the past is never fully behind us’, (y)our man William Faulkner hulk-smashed it better, or words to that / extent, ‘it’s not even / the past’ - but is now a Happy Goat Coffee shop edition, replete with the same physical set-up as previously because Starbucks recovery, deja vu all over / again is all / we gots.

Course you go, someone hulk-smashed it better (that’s enough, -id.) where ©inspiration finds you, and many are the afternoons that have been spent at this very location, once Starbucks Inc., now this (O-Town based ?) Happy Goat edition, with (y)our man Cin hulk-smashing away at  (t)his Take THis Thing Back to Baltime-moires and sing / along, ‘ The Sound / of Music ‘ the schedule at the Mayfair Theatre, just up the street from here - and where (y)our man Cin of course has videed countless movies before during and after hulk-smashing away about them in the pixels and pages of the same -  announces its’ Saturday after before during and after it becomes Another Sadurday night and i Ain’t Got Nobody (that’s enough, -id.) matinee schedule for today, ‘sing / along’, going where cinspiration finds you is all / we gots.

What it is in The Sound of Music is that (y)our (wo)men the Eight Is Enough-level numbers of members of the once-aristocratic Von Trapp Family - saved from certain / death back in the 20th as a result of the dastardly genocidal plans of (y)our mad(man) Adolf Hitler and the rest of his droogs in the Nazi party in Germany before during and after  World War Two - (wo)manage to excape as we do to the Austrian Alps in the film because Adelweis, Adelweis / You Seem So happy to See Me, and soon enough the whole famn Von Trapp damily is after singing morning noon and night in the film because they have Julie Andrews as their nanny or governess as Disney Inc. did back in the 20th because pipes, and giving music lessons to boot to an entire generation / of film-goers, namely ‘doe / a deer , a female deer, ray, a pocketful / of sun’ and all / that, ‘I hate’ (y)our man John Belushi RIP as Jake Blues says it better in the John Landis film The Blues Brothers before during and after (y)our men the eponymous characters Jake and Elwood drive / the same off the side of the bridge in that movie in the(ir) Bluesmobile, “illinois / Nazis’, sing-alongs is all / we gots.

Course no matter what’s playing at / the Mayfair - and normally what’s playing at / the Mayfair matters a great / deal, seeing as that the beginning and end of what passes for (y)our man Cin’s social / life as of late consists entirely of visiting (y)our (wo)man the website filmcanottawa.com morning noon and night and hoping against / hope that four-lettered word that a movie, any / movie, really, might be after playing at one of the member theatres listed at the site because dateless wonder - or as soundtrack to this Happy Goat Coffee shop edition on O-Town’s Bank Street and no one can listen to overheard in(s)ane coffee shop chatter going on and on and on for too / long before during and after going in(s)ane one’s own / self , still and all it’s the Mother Corp and the Metropolitain Opera live in New York City Baby’s “Saturday after at the Met’ radio transmission that we’ll be after listening to by way of  (y)our (Walk)man the Sony Walkman earbuds because operatic, ‘then we must go on’, (y)our (Marathon) man Aragon of Arathon replies it better to one of the Bagginsesesesses in Peter Jackson’s movie version of one of the J.R.R. Tolkien Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, the hobbits  going on and on and on as we do that there’s no / hope because of the orcs and all / that, ‘without / hope’, going on and on and on without  / hope is all / we gots.

In other news that four-lettered word, (y)our man Cin and 150,000 (!) of his fellow-cubicombers and union members are after living and burning / through Day Three of the Dukes of Hazzards of living paycheck-to-paycheck because ‘stttteeeeeeeeeriiiiiike’, (y)our man the actor Leslie Nielsen as LAPDetective Frank Dribben, going nundercover as the home plate umpire at the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game back in the 20th in the Zucker brothers’ film Naked Gun as countless umpires before during and after Dribben have done  / the same and calling a strike better in that movie, the better to pat down every player on the opposing teams’ line-up because of actionable intelligence that a Manchurian Candidate-type brainwashing has programmed one of the athletes to kill Queen Elizabeth of England, present in the crowd in that movie because I must kill / the President, the Dukes of Hazzards of living paycheck-to-paycheck is all / we gots.

‘You may be the last person,’ (y)our man Cin mansplanied the same better last week to (y)our (wo)man the(ir) (wo)manager at work that four-lettered word - professing his ignorance as we do as far as the actual mechanics and confirmation of the long-anticipated  strrrrriiiiiiiike action in the Federal cubicombs, called last WTFednesday of course because WTF - ‘I should be aksing, but are we / on strike?’  Receiving an answer in the affirmative - and where the current alternatives to striking / from home that four-lettered word (hooker please, -id.) are either 1. becoming a scab that four-lettered word and crossing the picket lines, physically and / or virtually, by continuing / to work that four-lettered verb, or 2. earning 75 bucks a day the hard way by picketing, ‘do you want to earn 100 bucks’ (y)our man Rodney Dangerfield askses it better of Judge Smails’ wife in the immor(t)al Harold Ramis film Caddyshack, videed only two nights ago in Luksvegas on the Quebec side, ‘the hard / way ?’,  professing his ignorance as we do is all / we gots.

Course ‘we have nothing to fear’ (y)our man the former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt spouted it better back in the 20th - or possibly even / the 19th ? - ‘but fear / itself’, and (y)our man Cin has no one to blame / but himself for still living paycheck-to-paycheck up in here, despite having held a job for twenty years (!) at Club Fed up in here in O-Town, possibly with RRSPs and all / that, ‘why doncha all just go down / to Dalhousie Street’, (y)our man their co-worker at Ferme de la Montagne gave us the soundest and only financial advice that (y)our man Cin (n)ever / learned from, innit TED, before during and after tiring of listening us go on and on and on back in the 20th about how broke / we were and all / that, and name-dropping as we do of course the epicenter of O-Town’s red-light district at the time, ‘and suck / cock ?’, going down to Dalhousie Street and (hooker please, -id.) is all / we gots.

‘People don’t plan / to fail’ the hackneyed if true-enough TV and print ads trying / and failing to combat financial illiteracy up in here back in the 20th start it better, ending of course with the gut-punchline ‘they fail / to plan’, and won’t (y)our man Cin - despite before during and after paid eleven hundred dollars a year for twenty years in union dues but unable to claim any of that from the looks of it before during and after this current strrrrrrriiiiiikkkkkkkkke - be having to look for work that four-lettered word of some / kind if this work out(r)age is not ended, and / soon, hackneyed if true-enough is all / we gots.

Course logging onto the rbc.com website and pressing different buttons on the ‘accounts’ page, before during and after crossing himself as we do - ‘testacles’, (y)our man Mike Myers as Austin Powers describes this Christian thing  better in his film of the same name, innit Electrified JC, and doesn’t (y)our man Cin’s own one-password to rule / them all also follow this North-South-West-East path on the ATM  and the phone keyboard because superstitious, ‘spectacles, wallets / and watch’ - and transferring all kinds / of funds irresponsibly from what he now understands to be his once-near-paid off mortgage credit line for the cindominium and into his checking account because broke / as fuck before during and after living paycheck-to-paycheck  for decades / on end and then sttttttrrrrrrriiiiiiiiikkkkkkkke action because financially irresponsible and sometimes it even / works ! , pressing buttons irresponsibly at rbc.com is all / we gots.

Oh yeah, and for the third time in six years, the mighty Ottawa River has biblically flooded, blocking as we do the one-and-only access road to the(ir) pandemic Nosluoc home in Luksvegas on the Quebec side because the end is near and all / that, ‘I couldn’t go on the picket line’ (y)our man Cin tried and failed to manplain the same better earlier today his failure to do his bit before during and after (t)his latest stttttrrrrriiiiiiiike to his fetch chiropractrix, ‘because I couldn’t get out of my / driveway’, flooded / biblically is all / we gots.

Thank you for reading (t)his Take THis THing Back to Baltime-moires and sing / along.

12-01-2014      ®ules                      Once you've gone ®egime ze®o, it cinfiltrates your thinking in the most cinsidious / ways.   As a logical enough extension of Cin's decision of a Sunday not to be connected electronically to any of his devices in any way shape or form, a decision was made to go mute / as well.   Not a wo®d would escape / his word-hole.                 It's hard enough, like all Things at first, to shuddup a your face, to keep your two cents to yourself, to shut your gob, to fermer / la bouche.   But it's not / that hard, matter of fact it reduces - to ze®o that four-lettered wo®d - the percintage of saying something of such rank stupidity that you regret it even before the words have left / your wo®dhole.   'I doubt you've ever had a stupid thou...
