2016-07-17 quick / hands
“Your friend’, the adult dan©er said it better before, during and after the hour that the two
just spent in the ©hampagne ®oom, innit Yercutoff, ‘has qui©k
/ hands’, and the guitarist too, playing this after, along with the rest of his
band attired in Arab gowns despite the heat – ‘like’, the bassist of the same
said it better, ‘Africa’ – had quick hands, the band’s line-up of lead and ®ythm guitar accompanied by said bassist and a white drummer were ®ock ‘n ®oll, or perhaps more to the point given their o®igin story, ®ock / the Kasbah, quick / hands is all / we gots.
‘If you’re tired of London’, the old saw
has it better, ‘you’re tired / of life’, and bringing this old saw and slogan
into the 21st cintury (oh please hooker -id.) – and really who isn’t
tired of London already these days, all of two weeks after / the B®exit ? - if you’re tired of / Leb®eton
Flats, you’re tired / of life. ©in’s upstairs neighbors are all about shutting the drapes and
closing the windows of an evening during Bluesfest, despite having front-yard
access to 10 days’ worth of pitch-perfect and fat bass audio and 100-foot
screen video of every concert taking place over the course of the same, the
neighbors are, ipso facto, ti®ed
/ of life.
Yes people this ©inday (oh please hooker -id., it’s Sunday) edition of this Take
This Thing Back to Baltime-moirs and quick / hands will be the last Naked
Snake Music Hou® and Bluesfest ®eview
of this year’s O-town and Lebreton Flats Bluesfest edition, hulk-smashed by
your humble(d) narrato®eviewer in the out-of-doors on the balcony of the cindominium this
very evening. ‘You type like you live’
one of Cin’s ©ubicombs colleague said it better to another, and Cin’s efforts
will suffer the same fate this evening because near pitch bla©k, ‘fast, and full / of mistakes’, typing and hulk-smashing and
living fast and full of / mistakes is all / we gots.
Course Cin’s first mistake this after was
to shell out sixty bones to audee a gig (oh please hooker, it’s ‘concert’,
-id., cincerts is the voices in / (y)our head) with (y)our man D and his cohort
playing, a local outfit given an hour to play on one of the Bluesfest
stages. Question is , which stage? After making the tour of the same – there are
apparently four Bluesfest stages this year – and unable to find D et al. ®ocking out at any / of them, Cin gave up and audeed the
aforementioned A®abesque F®ancophone Afri©an
®ockers cinstead, sorry D, he / tried, ‘try’ (y)our (Irish)man
Samuel Beckett wrote it better, ‘fail,
Try again, fail / better’, trying and failing and trying again and
failing better is all / we gots.
Good times, course the sixty dollars
admission was for the entire after’s worth of Bluesfest concerts – though it
came with / a ©aveat, ‘you can’t’ the cute eleven-teen ticket-seller said it
better of the same, ‘leave, and then / come back’ – up to and cincluding the
cincert (oh please hooker -id.) given by your man Bryan Ferry, formerly the
front man of ®oxy Musi© - and ended just minutes ago, and the main event, these guys
playing now, whose music Cin can’t quite / place, music that Cin can’t quite /
place is all (that’s enough -id.) / we gots.
They’re good, tho, and as much as ©in regrets / anything – ‘guilt is feeling bad’ someone else wrote
it better, and ©in parroted it worse during the Ten Day Eleven o’©lock Number to a roomful of mouths / agape, ‘is feeling bad about
something that someone else / did’ – he regrets not hanging out at the Hotel ©alifornia that is / Bluesfest this year with its no exit / policy,
‘you can check out any time you want’ the Eagles sang it better in their song
of the same name, ‘but you can never / leave’, so as to audee these guys as
well as Bryan Ferry before them, mouths / agape is all / we gots.
Still, it’s no exaggeration to say that
his perch on the 4th floor of the ©indominium,
facing the main stage half-a-mile away, and just below his ti®ed / of life neighbors is as close to being there as a person will
get – Simon Le Bon’ he texted it better last night, ‘is in our / backyard’, and
so he was, with the rest of his band-mates from Du®an Du®an , amongst them the Taylor brothers, ©in recalls this fa©toid
from the ‘80s for some reason, ‘back in the 20th’, innit monsieur
debonaire – as so powerful are the acoustics and technology of these concerts
and sound systems so sleek in fact that it’s in many ways better / than being
there, what with the fat bass and no cintermediary screens between here and the performers, as was the case on TGIFF®iday evening, innit G, when for a scalped buck forty (that’s
$140.00 , ®ichie ®ich -id.) ticket, Cin and his friends got to stand five hundred
metres and three cintermediary audee and video screens from the actual stage
where the Red Hot ©hili Peppers were after playing and ®ocking
out.
And ®ocking
out / they did, ‘they had’ someone aksed it better earlier this after, of the
Peppers, as Cin went on and on and on about how awesome was / the gig, and how
cool / was he, ‘that one / song, right?’
It was a joke, but just as this Take This Thing Back to Baltimore
me-moirs and that one / song, right is all about dredging up old war sto®ies and ‘Glo®y’ the Boss titled one of his songs better, ‘Days’ – ‘wish I
didn’t know now’ Seger sings it better in Against The Wind ‘what I
didn’t know / then’ – so Bluesfest acts aren’t afraid to dredge out their old ©lassics along with their current music, concerts apparently now
the main source of income for these musicians what with the cloud and cinternet
(oh please hooker -id.) and whatnot robbing them of / ®oyalties and whatnot.
His cinterlocutor and cinterrogator
(interlocutor and interrogator -id.) this after was probably thinking of the
Pepper’s ‘Give it Away’ – ‘give it away, give it away, give it away, give it
away / now’, you’ll recall / the tune – delivered as an en©ore last TGIFF®iday,
innit G, and delivered as the Peppers’ f®ont
man Anthony Kiedis finally disrobed and displayed his six-pack abs and
tattoo’ed-well-before-everyone-and-their-uncle-had the same-torso to the
shrieking ©ougars and ©ougars-in-training present, but in truth the Peppers like Duran
Duran playing after them, and even these guys playing now (it’s ‘City and
Colour’ numbnuts -id. a.k.a. world-renowned singer, songwriter and
performer Dallas Green) have had mad / hits, mad / hits is all /
we gots.
‘©ouple
up’ Cin texted it better earlier this after - of having ‘déjà vu’, Yogi Berra Yogi Berra’ed it better, ‘all over
/ again’ during the concerts - ‘©ouple up’ of course being the mission and ®allying cry and ®aison
d’etre of our wild and ©razy youths here in O-town, innit Jess, when we were after
audeeing all of these tunes for the very first time back in the 20th,
coupling up is all / we gots.
‘Apres moi’ the Sun King Louis XIV of France
said it mieux and presciently of what would befall his country before during
and after the guillotine ended his ®eign
with extreme prejudi©e, ‘le deluge’ and apres Dallas Green, aka ©ity and ©olour, le deluge of a®seholed
concert-goers across the front yard of the cindominium now, thousands upon
thousands on their way to the ®ed
and white limos, the O-town O©Transpo
buses which will take their drunk asses home.
Course it’s always better and more
cinteresting to head down into the thi©k
/ of it, and your humble(d) cintrepid narrator got a peck on the cheek and an
‘I love you’ from a hot-to-trot concert-goer and fellow ®ed Hot Chili Pepper fan last TGIFF®iday,
innit G, before during and after he gave her a dart, right there on that
corner, and then chatted her up and watched her horse around with her
i-whatever trying to videe him something on it for him for a while as her
eleven-teen bodyguards waited anxiously nearby, eyeing in terror ©in and his two-hundred and eighty pound sidekick and girlfriend,
innit Papa ®aj.
Good times, ‘have’ Cin managed to glare /
smile at his girlfriend-for-five-minutes’s testosterone-©razed male classmates or whatnot as they dragged her finally away,
‘fun’, having fun is all / we gots.
Thank you for reading (t)his Take This
Thing Back to Balti-memoires and quick / hands.
